Dear family and friends,

Welcome to John and Noelene’s “Fourth Estate” our annual round up of what we’ve been doing year, after year, after year, after……..

Way back in 2007 we came to realise that we were spending about £150 around Christmas time in sending cards and newsletters to our family and friends who we love so much.  And yet there are many, many people around the world who don’t have food, shelter, medical care, education or the other essentials of life that we take for granted, despite our current government’s cuts.

So we decided to simply send our annual greetings by email wherever possible and have developed this website.  The money we save is sent to our “charity of the year” which is usually either Action Aid or Bolton’s local charity for refugees and asylum seekers – BRASS.

We love your Christmas cards and the friendship that comes with them and it’s great to hear about your highlights each year but how about doing the same as we do.
